Join us for worship Sunday mornings at 10:30 am in person or by livestream on YouTube. All are welcome.

2nd “unlearn Sunday”

Posted on: September 17th, 2021 by Trillium Lutheran Church

This Sunday will be Trillium’s second “unlearn Sunday”. Join us Sunday, Sept. 19 at 10:30am for an abbreviated worship after which guest facilitators from unlearn, a local design-focused equity education organization, will lead us in conversations around diversity, equity, and positive change. Unlearn’s aim is to challenge us to think about our unconscious biases that keep us from being as welcoming as we can be. We believe that God’s plan – in creation and now – is that there is only one family. What we unlearn is the perceived or felt necessity of division.  Please join us as we learn, grow, and explore together. Zoom information available weekdays from the church office.

Bell Ringing to Stop 3 Weeks into Step 3

Posted on: August 5th, 2021 by Trillium Lutheran Church

In April Trillium’s church bells resumed ringing to show support for front-line workers. The bells had previously been rung in the spring and summer of 2020.  On July 16 Ontario entered Step 3 of the re-opening plan.  As we are now in the third week of Step 3, it was felt this would be an appropriate time to stop ringing the bells.  Therefore, Friday, August 6 will be the last time the bells are rung at Trillium for this purpose.

We would like to thank the front-line workers, our bell ringers, and any neighbours who joined us in showing support for the workers.

Puppet pops up at Trillium office

Posted on: July 7th, 2021 by Trillium Lutheran Church

What a surprise to have Otter the puppet visit the church office! Our office administrator was delighted to have a visitor and hear a Bible story. Otter’s visit and story will be part of an upcoming Sunday service.

One never knows where a puppet might show up next or what words of wisdom it might have to share!

Climate Justice

Posted on: July 2nd, 2021 by Trillium Lutheran Church

Did you notice? The banner for Climate Justice has moved to a more permanent home up on the wall.

Taking leadership in the climate crisis is a critical way that we as a church can live out our faith.  On Earth Day 2021, Trillium Lutheran Church joined 9 other local faith organizations in displaying a banner calling on our community to “Act Now” in the face of climate change.  This is just a beginning. Stay tuned to learn more about what the church community is doing for Climate Justice.

Senseless Vandalism

Posted on: June 25th, 2021 by Trillium Lutheran Church

In case you heard about the damage to Trillium’s front door on June 18, it was not extensive. A small window was broken and has been repaired.  Our thanks to good neighbours, who alerted the police!  And to our window repairer who covered the hole with plywood until it can be fixed properly. All are welcome and loved!
