Trillium is an intergenerational community committed to journeying together in faith and in life.
Each person you meet at Trillium will express their relationship to faith and belief differently. Diversity of experience is a gift that helps us grow in wisdom together.
As a community, Trillium is rooted in the Lutheran tradition (ELCIC). We understand the heart of this tradition to be God’s grace or unconditional love for all people and all creation. As Christians, we are called to practice being open to this love, so that we can bravely discern how the Spirit is calling each of us to be a part of God’s liberating work for all the world.
We strive to be a community that provides:
- An environment that is welcoming, safe, and dynamic for people to explore and learn what Christian faith means in everyday life
- A place where people experience and share love, compassion, and hope
- An atmosphere of grace that is open to questions and conversation
- A group of people committed to peace, justice, and wholeness for our community and our world
What does it mean to be a 'member' of Trillium?
If you participate in a Trillium program, you are a part of our community! We hope you feel free to share your ideas and talents and to participate fully in worship (including communion) or other events.
Church ‘membership’ means officially joining Trillium as an institution. Membership is necessary to serve on the Board of Directors and to vote on organizational decisions. While members are encouraged to prayerfully consider what gifts they might be called to contribute to the Trillium community (time, service, money), there is no expectation that members will give in a specific way. If you are interested in membership at Trillium, please reach out to Pastor Leanne at pastorleanne@trilliumwaterloo.ca .
