Trillium Village School: Welcome to Elizabeth Ziegler Students!

Please note, the program described below is at capacity. We wish we could help more families!

You may have heard on the news that our neighbourhood elementary school, Elizabeth Ziegler, has been closed for structural analysis until the end of March. This sudden closure has left parents in the difficult position of choosing to stay home and care for their children or work to support their families.

The Renewal in Action Team is excited to announce that Trillium will be able to support our community through this difficult time. We have hired Lisa Kiernander to coordinate childcare for 24 children at Trillium during the school day from March 17th-28th.

Lisa and her family have gotten to know Trillium through the Footpaths program on Wednesday nights. We are grateful for her willingness to serve our larger community in this role!

While childcare will be primarily provided by parent volunteers, this is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know our community! If you have a little time to be an extra adult, to help a child read their homework instructions, maybe read a story to a child or two, organize some craft supplies etc. please connect with Nathan.

As the name of this temporary ‘pop-up school’ suggests, “it takes a village” to care for the children in our community.
